Fibre Connection for NHS N3 LGS
Many NHS Trusts are now using Voice Services across the NHS National Network (N3).
The Royal Brompton Hospital and The Whittington Hospital in London use the N3 'Local Gateway Service' (LGS) to interface between their local PBX switch environments and the N3 Voice Service. One challenge for both Hospitals was to extend the connection to the LGS Router to their PBX platforms located some distance away.
Metrodata Network Solutions were able to offer a solution from parent company and Telecoms Equipment Manufacturer, Metrodata Ltd. The FC1000 fibre converters used by both Hospitals offer electrical (E1 RJ45/BNC) to multi-mode fibre conversion, allowing connection between the DPNSS Voice Trunk ports of their PBXs to the LGS Router across the Hospitals' existing fibre backbone networks.
Metrodata Ltd's FC1X00 fibre converter range offer electrical (RJ45/BNC) to fibre conversion using SC connectors (ST connectors optional) allowing the transportation of voice and data over fibre links. They offer easy installation and can be used stand-alone or rack mounted. Three versions are offered, for multi-mode (FC1000), single-mode shorthaul (FC1100) and single-mode longhaul (FC1200) fibre applications.
